In the Fall of 1999, God chose Alfred and Antionette Wesley to start a home bible study. There were no plans to or even thoughts of doing anything other than those bible studies. But as the LORD would have it, The Christ Dependent Community Church was birthed out of those studies. The church met publicly for the first time in April 2000. Our first meeting place was the cafeteria at North Hardin High School in Radcliff, Kentucky. We witnessed great spiritual growth, individually, and collectively. We laughed and we cried together. We shared our joys, as well as our sorrows. We were united at the heart by the Holy Spirit. We had some great times in that cafeteria, and we met there until God blessed us with a home of our own.
In 2020, to reflect a call to meet ongoing needs in the community, the name of the church was changed to Christ Dependent Ministries. The call directed us to become more attentive to the physical needs of our community. We thank God for the call.
We enjoy and embrace the advantages of being an intimate community that fosters authentic relationships while providing a genuine sense of belonging and support – both in times of celebration and challenges.
We recognize that God has strategically placed us here to minister to the needs of the people around us. We take to heart the words of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. 25:34-40 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ 37
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
We emphasize that Church is so much more than a place to go, it is who we are as followers of Christ.
HERE TO SERVE!
